If you have multiple tenants on your digital rental contract from BoligPortal and choose automatic registration for electricity, only one of the tenants needs to be registered for the electricity agreement using their CPR number.
There are two methods to register one of your tenants for electricity:
When the tenant enters their CPR number
If you leave the tenant's CPR field empty, the tenant must enter their CPR number themselves to provide authorization for registration with the electricity company.
Read more about registering tenant for electricity without CPR number.
Only the first tenant who signs the sent rental contract will then be asked to enter their CPR number.
The utility company only requires authorization in the form of a CPR number from one tenant, so the remaining tenants will not be asked to provide their CPR numbers.
As a landlord, you do not need to do anything special if you have multiple tenants on the rental contract.
The tenant is immediately notified
When the tenant opens the link to sign the rental contract, they are informed that the landlord has requested automatic registration for electricity.
Once one of the tenants on the rental contract has entered a CPR number, the authorization and registration have been completed.
When the landlord enters the tenant's CPR number
If you, as the landlord, have obtained the tenant's consent for electricity registration and want to enter the CPR number directly into the rental contract, you only need one CPR number from one of the tenants.
Even if you enter the CPR numbers of all tenants in the rental contract, only 'Tenant 1' will appear on the authorization.
When the tenants receive the rental contract, an authorization with the provided CPR number is included.
Please note that only the utility company can see the full CPR number, while the tenant, landlord, and BoligPortal staff can only see the tenant's birthdate digits.
