On BoligPortal, you are allowed to rent out your property even if it is for sale. However, it is a requirement that all of the following rules are adhered to before your advertisement for a property that is for sale is approved:
- The rental period must be limited to a maximum of 3 months
- The advertisement must clearly indicate that the property is for sale – both in the title and description
- The advertisement must not mention the sale price or link to a sales advertisement
- The advertisement must not include requirements for purchase
- The advertisement must not include requirements that the tenant must make the property ready for showing

As a landlord, there are a number of conditions and rules you should familiarize yourself with when selling a property that you are renting out. As a general rule, selling a property is not a valid reason to terminate a rental agreement.
We recommend that you contact a lawyer or another entity with legal knowledge about renting out properties for sale before you advertise your property. This ensures that no problems arise – neither with the tenant nor the new owner of your property.
