When you register your tenant for an electricity agreement through the digital rental contract on BoligPortal, the electricity company requires the tenant’s CPR number in order to create the agreement in the tenant’s name.
However, it is not a requirement that you as the landlord enter the tenant’s CPR number in the rental contract – for example, if you or the tenant feel more comfortable letting the tenant handle it themselves.
You simply need to indicate which utility company you want to register the tenant with under the 'Forbrug' tab in the rental contract builder and then leave the field for the tenant’s CPR number blank.
Note: Digital rental contracts on BoligPortal are exclusively offered in Danish, which is why images and some words in this guide appear in Danish.
How to avoid entering the tenant's CPR number in the rental contract
If you need help creating a rental contract through BoligPortal, you can read this guide.
- Go to the 'Forbrug' tab in the lease contract builder and select 'Mellem lejer og forsyningsselskab', followed by the electricity company you want to sign the tenant up with
- Fill out the rest of the lease contract and leave the input field for the CPR number blank when you reach the 'Lejer' tab
- Complete the creation and send the lease contract for signing
The lease contract will then be automatically sent for digital signature to the tenant. The tenant will be notified to fill in their CPR number, along with an explanation of why this is required, before the lease contract can be signed.
