It is necessary to obtain the tenant's CPR number when registering for an electricity agreement, as the utility company requires this as authorization for the registration. However, if there are multiple tenants on the rental contract, you only need one tenant's CPR number.

You can choose whether to collect and enter the tenant's CPR number yourself or let the tenant enter it themselves.
Note: Digital rental contracts on BoligPortal are exclusively offered in Danish, which is why images and some words in this guide appear in Danish.
If you enter the tenant's CPR number yourself:
If you enter the tenant's CPR number when creating the rental contract, you only need to enter the CPR number for one of your tenants.
When the tenants receive the rental contract, a power of attorney is attached, where the provided CPR number appears.
If you let the tenant enter their CPR number:
If you let the tenant enter their CPR number themselves, you just leave the field blank when creating the rental contract. Then, the first tenant (Tenant 1) will be the only one asked to enter their CPR number when they receive the contract for signing.

When the tenant opens the sent link to sign the rental contract, they will be informed that the landlord has requested automatic registration for electricity.
Once one of the tenants on the rental contract has entered a CPR number, the power of attorney and registration will be completed.
Note: Only the utility company can see the full CPR number. The tenant, landlord, and employees at BoligPortal can only see the first 6 digits, which indicate the tenant's date of birth – not the last 4 digits.
