When we at BoligPortal refer to the 14-day faults and deficiencies period, we mean the period after moving into a rental property, where the tenant has the right to report any faults or deficiencies in the rental property to the landlord.
As soon as you take possession of your new rental property, you, as a tenant, have 14 days to make a list of all the damages, faults, and deficiencies in the property that were present when you moved in.
We recommend that you add pictures of each damage and deficiency to document further. The list, including pictures, should be sent to your landlord no later than the fourteenth day after moving in.
If your landlord uses BoligPortal's moving inspection tool, you will automatically receive a link for digital reporting of faults and deficiencies. This makes it easy and quick for you to document any damages that may exist in your new home.

Why should I report faults and deficiencies when I move in?
By reporting faults and deficiencies when you move into a rental property, you ensure that you will not be held responsible for any damages, faults, or deficiencies that were present when you moved in, when you move out.
It is, therefore, your security that you will not be unfairly deducted from your deposit for damages to the property that you are not responsible for.
How do I report faults and deficiencies in the first 14 days after moving in?
The way your landlord manages your 14-day faults and deficiencies period may vary. If your landlord uses BoligPortal's digital system for moving inspections, you will automatically receive a link for digital reporting of faults and deficiencies upon moving in.

We recommend that you review the entire rental property as soon as possible after moving in – including areas that may not be immediately visible. Test if all installations and inventory work as they should, such as the oven, extractor fan, refrigerator, doorbell, and similar items. Check if all windows can be opened and if all electrical outlets and circuit breakers work.
If you are unsure about how to report faults and deficiencies upon moving in, you should contact your landlord directly.
What happens if I don't report faults and deficiencies within 14 days after moving in?
If you do not meet the 14-day deadline, your landlord will not be obligated to repair or account for any deficiencies that may be present. We, therefore, recommend that you notify your landlord of all faults and deficiencies in writing within 14 days.
