You can easily create and sign a digital rental contract with BoligPortal’s contract builder, even if you or your tenant do not have MitID.
You simply need to select the signature option 'Uden digital signatur (skriv under på skærmen)' under the 'Gennemse og færdiggør' tab in the contract builder, after which the rental contract can be signed digitally by all parties signing directly on the screen.
Note: Digital rental contracts on BoligPortal are exclusively offered in Danish, which is why images and some words in this guide appear in Danish.
How to sign a digital rental contract without MitID
- Go to the 'Rental Contracts' tab on your profile and complete the required steps in the rental contract builder
- Go to the 'Gennemse og færdiggør' tab and scroll down to the section 'Underskrift af lejekontrakt og bilag'
- Select the signing method 'Uden digital signatur (skriv under på skærmen)'
- Complete the contract and send it for signing without MitID by clicking on 'Send til underskrift'
Hereafter, the rental contract will automatically be sent for digital signing via email and SMS, containing a link for signing.
Note: The signature method 'Uden digital signatur (skriv under på skærmen)' applies to all parties. This means that when the tenant does not have MitID, both of you must sign on the screen – even if you, as the landlord, have MitID.
To sign the rental contract on the screen, each of you just needs to click 'Underskriv dokument' within the actual rental contract and then write your signature in the signature field.
Once all parties have signed, the final signed rental contract will be available on your user profile under the 'Rental Contracts' tab.
Note: The signatures will appear on the last page of the final rental contract – not under § 12, where signature fields are typically located. However, the contract is still fully valid and correct.
Read more about why the signatures do not appear in the rental contract's § 12 here.
No, the method you choose to sign the rental contract applies to all parties who need to sign. Therefore, you cannot sign with MitID if you have chosen for the tenant to sign on the screen.
If you choose the 'Digital signatur' method, all parties must sign with a digital signature — either with MitID or BankID.
