An allonge to a lease agreement is an addendum where you change or add terms to the existing contract without creating a completely new one. It must be in writing and signed by both the landlord and the tenant to be valid.
Unfortunately, at BoligPortal, we do not have any available tools to create and manage allonges as addenda to your digital lease agreements.
If you wish to add or change terms to one of your existing lease agreements – for example, if you want to add a tenant to the agreement, change the rent, or extend the rental period – you will need to create the allonge yourself.
You can easily create your allonge in Word, as long as you remember to include all relevant information. You may find it helpful to continue reading this guide for more information on how an allonge can be structured.
An allonge must always refer to the original lease agreement and be signed by all parties before it is valid.
How do you create an allonge?
There are several ways you can create an allonge. For example, you can search for a template online or simply create a document yourself specifying the new or changed terms in the lease agreement.
Since there are no formal requirements for the layout of an allonge, you can easily create a document in Word or similar word processing programs.
Remember to include the following information:
- Name, address, and contact details of all parties (i.e., landlord and all tenants)
- Clear reference to the lease agreement to which the allonge belongs
- Unambiguous description of what is being changed in the lease agreement, including the effective date of the change
- Signatures from all parties
