How do I add photos to my active housing listing?

Have more questions? Submit a request

If you want to add more photos to your active ad on BoligPortal, you can simply click on the listed adress / ad under 'Advertised rentables' and click on 'Add Photo'.

You can upload photos in JPG, JPEG, and PNG formats.
You cannot upload photos in PDF or HEIC format.

We recommend adding bright, high-quality, and accurate photos when creating your listing. Additionally, it provides a better user experience if your photos offer a chronological tour of your property and include a floor plan. The better your photos are, the more interest your listing will attract.

If you don’t add photos to your listing, it will appear like this to potential renters.

Der indsættes et standardbillede, hvis du ikke indsætter billeder på din annonce.png

We only accept image files in .jpg, .jpeg, .jpng, and .png formats with a maximum size of 10MB each.
We do not accept file types such as PDF and HEIC (commonly from Apple devices).

What does primary image mean?

The primary image is the main photo that will appear as the cover image for your listing. It’s the first image potential renters will see when browsing your listing, before clicking on it for more details.

Why should I mark my floor plan as 'Floor Plan'?

When you mark your floor plan as 'Floor Plan', as shown in the image above, your listing will automatically get a button labeled 'Floor Plan'. When potential renters click on it, your floor plan will be displayed automatically.

This provides a good user experience for potential renters and makes it easy to navigate your listing.

I can't upload photos to my listing. What should I do?

If you're experiencing issues uploading photos to your listing, it’s often due to using a file format we don't support – typically PDF or HEIC – or because one or more of your photos exceeds 10MB.

Make sure you only add photos in JPG, JPEG, and PNG formats.

You cannot add photos in PDF or HEIC formats. If your photos are in these formats, you'll need to change the file type before you can upload them.

How do I change the file type of my photos?

Many Apple and iOS devices automatically save photos in the HEIC file format when the live feature is enabled. This format is not supported by BoligPortal and cannot be uploaded.

You can change your photo file type by taking a screenshot of the images in your camera roll and uploading those screenshots instead, or by using an online file converter.

If you search for "HEIC to JPG" or similar terms on Google, you will find a variety of conversion solutions.

Unfortunately, BoligPortal cannot change the file type for you.

How do I avoid my phone saving pictures in HEIC format?

You can typically avoid your phone saving pictures in HEIC format by turning off the live feature.

To deactivate the live feature on your iPhone, tap the live icon in the top right corner of your camera app, so a diagonal line appears over it.

How do I change the file size of my images so that they are less than 10MB?

Regular images taken with a digital camera or a newer smartphone typically range from 2MB to 10MB. If you take photos in RAW (with professional camera equipment), the images are typically three times larger.

On BoligPortal, each of your images must not exceed 10MB.

You can easily compress the file size of your images by running them through software that automatically reduces the file size.

For example, you can search for "Compress image size" on Google, where you'll find a wide range of compression solutions.

How do I check the file size of my images?

On a computer:

Right-click on the image file and select 'Properties' (Windows) or 'Get Info' (Mac). You will see the file size in megabytes (MB) in the respective windows.

On a mobile device:
Open the app and find the image you want to check the size of. Tap on it to open it. Click on 'Details' or 'Info,' where you can see the file size in megabytes (MB).
