If you are renting your property to more than one tenant, you can easily add all tenants to your digital rental contract. You can ad as many tenants to the rental as you need.
All tenants linked to your rental contract will need to sign it before it becomes legally binding and fully signed.
Therefore, only individuals over the age of 18 who are to be considered responsible for the rental agreement should be added to the rental contract.
Note: Digital rental contracts on BoligPortal are exclusively offered in Danish, which is why images and some words in this guide appear in Danish
How to add more than one tenant to your rental contract
- Go to the 'Lejer' tab in the rental contract builder and enter all the details for one of your tenants in the fields
- Click on '+ Tilføj lejer' to add a new tenant to the rental contract
The tenant fields will now automatically be numbered as 'Lejer #1', 'Lejer #2', and so on, matching the number of tenant fields you have added.
- Enter all the information for the second tenant in the field – and continue until you have entered the details of all the tenants who should be included in the rental contract
If you have accidentally added too many fields, you can always delete them by clicking the red trash can icon in the top right corner of the box.
If more than two tenants, an appendix will be created for the rental contract
If you add more than two tenants, only 'Tenant #1' will appear under § 1 of the rental contract, 'Parterne og det lejede', in the final contract, along with the text "Additional tenants are listed in an appendix".
The remaining tenants will be included in an appendix to the rental contract.
This is because Typeformular A10, the current rental contract format in Denmark, does not allow for more than two tenants to be listed under § 1.
However, all tenants are still fully equal in relation to Tenant #1 in terms of the rental agreement, regardless of whether they are listed under § 1 or in an appendix.
